Ezekiel Elliott Re-Signs with Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys Lock Up Running Back for Six Years

Elliott, 28, Returns to Familiar Surroundings

The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed running back Ezekiel Elliott to a six-year, $90 million contract, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal includes a $7.5 million signing bonus and $50 million in guaranteed money.

Elliott, who turns 29 in July, spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots after being released by the Cowboys. He rushed for 642 yards and three touchdowns on 184 carries, a career-low 3.5 YPC.

The Cowboys are hoping that Elliott can return to his Pro Bowl form in Dallas. He was one of the NFL's most productive running backs from 2016-2021, rushing for over 1,000 yards in each of those seasons. However, he has struggled with injuries and inconsistency in recent years.

Elliott's return gives the Cowboys a much-needed boost in the backfield. Tony Pollard is a talented runner, but he is not the same caliber of player as Elliott. With Elliott in the fold, the Cowboys will have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL.

The Cowboys are hoping that Elliott can help them make a deep playoff run in 2024. They have a talented roster, but they need a few key players to step up and deliver. With Elliott back in the saddle, the Cowboys are confident that they can compete for a Super Bowl.
