Disney has released a first look at the upcoming film "Mufasa: The Lion King," which is set to hit cinemas in December. The film will tell the origin story of Mufasa, the father of Simba from the original "The Lion King" film.

According to the official synopsis, the film will follow Mufasa as he enlists the help of Rafiki to relay the legend of his life to his son, Simba. The film will explore Mufasa's journey from a young cub to the wise and respected king of the Pride Lands.

The film is directed by Barry Jenkins and features a voice cast that includes Donald Glover as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa. "Mufasa: The Lion King" is set to be released in theaters on December 25, 2024.
