Rational surges on strong Asian demand

First-half revenue up 4% as company benefits from increased orders in the region

Shares rise on positive outlook for the rest of the year

German commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer Rational AG has reported a 4% increase in revenue for the first half of 2024, driven by strong demand from Asia. The company's shares rose on the news, as investors welcomed the positive outlook for the rest of the year.

Rational's revenue for the first six months of the year reached €1.1 billion, up from €1.06 billion in the same period last year. The company said that demand for its products was particularly strong in Asia, where it saw a double-digit increase in orders.

"We are very pleased with our performance in the first half of the year," said Rational CEO Peter Stadelmann. "The strong demand from Asia is a testament to the quality of our products and our commitment to customer satisfaction."

Rational said that it is optimistic about the rest of the year, as it expects demand to remain strong in Asia and other parts of the world. The company also said that it is investing in new products and technologies to meet the changing needs of its customers.

"We are confident that we can continue to grow our business in the coming years," said Stadelmann. "We have a strong team, a great product portfolio, and a commitment to innovation."
