Hosts score twice in extra-time to set up meeting with Mexico in gold medal match

Hosts France fought back to beat Egypt 3-1 after extra time in the men's football semifinals at the Paris Olympics on Monday.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice for France, including a dramatic winner in the 119th minute as Egypt's resistance was finally broken.

The hosts will now face Mexico in the final on Thursday, August 8, while Egypt will play Japan in the bronze medal match on the same day.
