Annual Tribute In Light To Shine Again To Mark 23 Years Since 911 Terror Attacks In Nyc

9/11 Anniversary: Tribute in Light to Shine Again

A Beacon of Remembrance

As the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks approaches, the iconic Tribute in Light will once again illuminate the New York City skyline in remembrance of the lives lost. The two beams of light, symbolizing the Twin Towers, will shine from sunset on September 11th to sunrise on September 12th, paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims.

A Symbol of Resilience

The Tribute in Light has become an enduring symbol of resilience and hope in the face of tragedy. It was first created in 2002 by artists Julian LaVerdiere and Paul Myoda as a temporary memorial, but its powerful message has resonated with people around the world.

The installation consists of 88 searchlights positioned on the roof of six buildings surrounding the former World Trade Center site. The beams reach up to 4 miles into the sky, visible for miles around.

A Time for Reflection

The Tribute in Light serves as a reminder of the lives lost on 9/11 and the impact it had on the nation and the world.

It is a time for reflection and remembrance, as well as a celebration of the resilience and unity that emerged in the aftermath of the attacks.
