F1 driver Max Verstappen dominates in Baku, winning his sixth race of the 2022 season

The race was stopped on Lap 22 due to a crash involving George Russell and Sergio Perez. The race was restarted behind the Safety Car, Verstappen was able to maintain his lead and gain an advantage on the grid.

Max Verstappen has won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, his second victory in a row and sixth of the 2022 Formula 1 season.

The Red Bull driver dominated the race from start to finish, leading every lap and setting the fastest lap of the race. He finished 20 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Perez, who finished second.

Lewis Hamilton finished tenth after a chaotic restart to the race. The seven-time world champion was running second when the race was stopped on Lap 22 due to a crash involving George Russell and Perez. When the race was restarted behind the Safety Car, Hamilton was shuffled down the order and was unable to recover.

The win was Verstappen's fourth in Baku and extended his lead in the drivers' championship to 34 points over Perez. Hamilton is now third in the standings, 75 points behind Verstappen.

The race was also notable for the retirement of Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard was running third when he crashed out on Lap 9. It was Sainz's second retirement in a row and leaves Ferrari with just one point from the last two races.

The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is the Canadian Grand Prix, which takes place on June 19.
